“The day of the dead” is celebrated on November 1st and 2nd-—right after the pagan “Halloween“. It is mostly observed and celebrated by Latinos. I have heard many people “echo” that it is NOT the same as Halloween. They say…it’s a day of celebration and remembrance of the dead.
I tell you…it IS A LOT like Halloween—where people paint their faces to look as if THEY are dead in skeleton form. They go to the grave and call up familiar spirits, bringing food for the dead and drinks. Do NOT be fooled. While there is NOTHING wrong with remembering loved ones, even in celebration of the life they once had and the blessings they may have to given, but there is something seriously wrong with calling them from their grave, bringing them food/drinks, and dressing/masking yourself as If YOU YOURSELF are dead.
There are a lot of people who participate in this JUST like there are ALOT Of people who participate in Halloween who may see it has “harmless” but I say this to you—–IF you are a believer and a follower of Christ:
- Mark 12:20-12:27 — God is a God the LIVING and NOT of the DEAD
- Leviticus 20:6 —- “’I will set my face against anyone who turns to mediums and spiritualists to prostitute themselves by following them, and I will cut them off from their people.
- 1 Samuel 28:7– See the story of Saul’s ultimate fall from grace and eventual death
- Isaiah 8:19– 20— This is ALL of the time, not SOME of the time.
Stay diligent and prayed up during this time; the devil will be busy in some ways triumphant because there are so many blindly ignorant yet totally willing people doing things that will give him power—-which is what he craves, your ignorance and deceit. On the other hand, you have those who fully understand what Halloween and “events” like Day of the dead is all about because they are satanist, mediums, spiritualist etc. have ever reason to be jubilant of your ignorance. Just because you may not be as sensitive to spiritual things or are an infant in your walk with Christ to be more intimate with him regarding spiritual things, doesn’t mean they are not happening (Ecclesiastes 11:3) or that is is not effecting you or the body of Christ (Ephesians 6:12).
For it was in satan’s deception and our disobedience that we had our first fall from grace/distancing from God.
Why participate or celebrate or allow your kids to participate in something you very well KNOW is against God if you are actually FOR God and his Kingdom?—bc everyone else is doing it?
